Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid - what to start with?

What to start with?
An important stage for the individual system engineering of fire protection for any site is
pre-drafting analysis which includes several factors: the functional purpose of a building,
size, availability of elements, such as a raised floor, dividing walls, a false ceiling and
others.
As part of the pre-drafting analysis, a thorough examination of the protected building or
site is carried out whereby a draft is produced, which a planner designs in the course of
visiting the site.
OSK GROUP's expertise in the introduction of effective solutions for fire protection
based on 3M™ Novec™ 1230 will help accomplish the task quickly, professionally and
conveniently for the client.
All the client needs to do is call the company and we will provide detailed information
about the properties of the suppression agent, the order of drafting, and examples of its
provision on our website.
Novec 1230 Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid: Drafting.
Drafting includes several stages:
- Drafting of the Technical Task together with the client, that describes all parameters of
the protected building, including the requirements of the fire protection and alarm
systems. A competently drafted Technical Task is the first step for a successful project
accomplishment.
- Signing the contract for drafting in accordance with the prepared TT which is the main
appendix to the contract.
- Preparation of the complete set of drawings of the APS and AGPT systems, and the
project specification. On the basis of the project specification the contract for the supply
of the equipment is signed.
- Supply of the equipment for fire protection.
Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid: Mechanical installation.
Once the stage of the mechanical work of the fire protection systems is reached,
installation of the systems based on 3M™ Novec™ 1230 takes place on the client site.
The system can be installed either in a building under construction, a currently
functioning building, in fully-furnished buildings and even in fully -operated buildings.
The installation of the piping is carried out not only by welding but also using screw
pipe fitting, that helps to quickly and safely put together the distributing pipes in places
where, due to various reasons, a welding procedure is not possible.
The installation works take place considerably faster than in comparison with all other
GPT systems - it requires less pipe and fewer spray nozzles.
The process is entirely safe and it does not interrupt the work of the client. Usually
the process takes only a short time, and in comparison with other systems it is
significantly faster.
After the mechanical installation of the fire protection systems is completed, project
documentation is prepared that contains detailed information about the actual
installed equipment, piping routes and the cables and elements of the fire protection
systems.
Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid: Commissioning work.
At the stage of commissioning works the testing and start-up of the installed systems of
fire protection on the site takes place.
Commissioning work includes:
• General settings;
• equipment configuration;
• functional checks of the cables and equipment;
• integrated settings;
• system checks.
The high quality of systems based on 3M™ Novec™ 1230 makes it possible to organise
this process faster than any other similar fire protection systems.
The piping ensures the supply of 3M™ Novec™ 1230 to the area within an
estimated time of 10-15 seconds, depending on the system type: modular- type station or
fire-extinguishing station.
Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid: The result.
The fire protection system is ready for use and the site is safely protected!
At the final stage the client is given the documentation that contains detailed
information about the actual installed equipment, the piping routes and cables.
The documentation will be required in the future for system service, which is
why competently drafted documentation is a ticket for success in the operation of fire
protection systems.
Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid: Instruction.
Staff briefing on the use of the fire protection system, the fire alarm, the warning system,
the order of human evacuation and an explanation of all the principles of the work of the
automatic fire protection system is the final stage.
